My upcoming spring break staycation

Guest post written by Kim Simmons

Last year I went to Cancun with a couple of my friends for spring break and after those few days I think that I needed another break to recover. But I had to go back to school and that was tough because that break was just downright exhausting. Well, this year I actually want a break from the stress of life and school. So I'm just going to stay at home with my parents.

Two years ago I also did a staycation, but that was more so because I simply didn't have any plans. Well, I've been coming up with some books I can read during my staycation this year and while I was online looking that up, I found somesatellitestarinternet.com/ that sounded so great that I signed up for one of them for my apartment's internet service.

I'm really looking forward to my spring break staycation. It's going to be nice to just sleep in and read and watch tv for the whole week with no specific plans.

My first college spring break trip

Guest post written by Kelly Brown

The first two years of college, I just went home to relax and enjoy spring break with my family. But I decided that this year I would go on a fun trip. Plus, I got my roommates on board for the trip, so I'm really excited for it.

I spent a lot of time online researching the best prices for possible trips for all of us to take. While I was on there about a month or so ago, I came across some satelliteinternetbroadband.com/ and after I looked through them some, I signed up for one of them for my apartment.

My college spring break trip is just going to be to the beach. It's actually going to be pretty low key, but it's going to be so great to just relax on the beach with my friends. I also have a book picked out to read on the book when I'm not sleeping. I'm also really looking forward to going shopping and finding some great deals at some outlet stores!

Whipping up steak for the first time

Guest post written by Nikki Daye

One of the big things that I'm trying to do this year is learn how to cook. It wasn't because I thought it was time. It was more out of necessity because I got tired of living off of boxed macaroni and cheese and frozen dinners. A person just can't live off of those forever. I've been slowly making strides in my cooking and thought it would be a great way to reward myself if I grilled some steak.

I love eating steak and actually order it a lot of the time when I go out to eat. So I would like to be able to fix it quite often. I went online to find some good directions on how to marinate and grill one and while I was searching for that, I came across some http://www.satelliteinternetbroadband.com/. After I looked through them some, I decided to switch over form dial-up.

I've been letting my steaks marinate and the marinade smells delicious. I'm hoping that I don't over grill them and that they're edible. But I don't expect for my steaks to turn out perfect the first time.

Planning my horse riding trip

Guest post written by Kelly Byrd

I'm really looking forward to my kids' spring break when it rolls around in April. I always try to do something fun with them during their breaks, even if that means just taking a day trip or something along those lines. This year I've already started planning this little trip that we're going to take to go horseback riding. We all love to ride horses, but we don't own any so we don't have the opportunity to do it all that often. But there's still so much more to plan.

I do the trip planning while the kids are at school because they don't know about it yet. I was online the other day looking up some horseback riding info and while I was doing that I saw some stuff about www.satelliteinternetbroadband.com/ and decided to sign up for it.
We're going to this ranch where they have horses for two nights. There is just so much beautiful land to ride on there and there are even some great hiking trails that I'm going to plan for us to go on too.

Our Family Enjoys The TV Show Modern Family

Guest post written by Christine Duncan

I thought ABC came out with great shows last year and I'm so delighted that they brought back Modern Family. This show is so funny and our family is in stitches during every episode.
The show features a family and is filmed documentary style. The family includes a father named Jay who is remarried to a younger beautiful Columbian woman named Gloria; she has a son named Manny. The show also features Jay's grown daughter and son.

His daughter's name is Claire and she is a homemaker married to Phil. Together they have three children, Hailey is the oldest, Alex is the middle daughter and Luke is the youngest.
Russell is Jay's son and he is gay. He and his partner Cameron have adopted a Vietnamese baby named Lily. The show has moments of each individual family and then times when they are all together. A recent episode involved Claire and Phil getting caught having sex by their children. I thought it was great that they were caught by all three children who were bringing them breakfast in bed. Claire overanalyzed the situation and had to discuss it with the kids. They weren't thrilled with her for doing that.

I watch Modern Family on m tv from bestchoiceTV.com and with my DVR recording capability I am able to ensure that our family always watches this show.

Maury

Author: Joseph Sandoval

Maury is my favorite talk show. Maury is a real life talk show that focuses on real life events. He has people on the show as guests. Real people from all walks of life. Maury has a different topic everyday he is on TV. One of the best topics I like is are you the dad. This topic is when a guy denies he is the father of a child. Maury helps the woman find out who is the father of the child. Maury gets a paternity test for the mother.

I love watching Maury on satellite TV from http://www.bestchoicetv.com because it looks clearer. Maury is on everyday in the afternoon. It is a new episode everyday. Maury also touches on subjects such as kids who are heading down the wrong path in life. Maury has a scared straight show where he helps trouble kids who are breaking the law. Maury sends them to a prison for a scared straight program. Maury also sends the kids to a boot camp style camp. The camera crew follows their every move when they go through the boot camp program.

Satellite TV movie stars

Guest post from: Bruno Smith

Comedy is an important factor in all our lives as everybody needs to laugh.www.cannonsatellite.com has offered my family and our neighbours millions of opportunities to laugh every week with the mighty range of comical movies and sitcoms shown. The best sitcom for my oldest child has to be 'Friends', but I think it is because he really likes Rachel. A fantastic moment for my husband was when Reece Witherspoon had a cameo appearance as Jill Green who was Rachel's sister in the show. According to the story plot, Reece had been told by her father to go and live with Rachel for a while so she could learn to grow up and stand on her own two feet without financial support from her daddy.

When Jill discovered that Rachel had once dated Ross and now he was free and single, she tried to woo him with her womanly charms although being warned off by her older sister Rachel. So in typical Friends style Jill went ahead and began dating him anyway much to the annoyance of Rachel. The whole story was of jealousy and misgivings but was fantastic and funny to watch. If Rachel played by Jennifer Aniston or Reece Witherspoon used their womanly charms on my husband for even five seconds I do not think that I would get a look in.

The Idol Auditions

Guest post from: Steve Delaney

About twice a year my favorite reality TV show comes to television. American Idol. Every week when it's on I set down and watch the whole thing on satalie TV, that I got after seeing these www.cannonsatellite.com. American Idol comes on twice a week both on Wednesday and Thursday. I wish Simon Cowell could still host the show, but the new hosts are just as good.
My favorite aspect of American Idol is the auditions round. It's the first part of the season, and it's when the whole country has a chance to become the next famous pop singer. My favorite audition was when Adam Lambert blew the judges away with his performance of Bohemian Rhapsody. Adam Lambert made it through the entire show and came in second place when the season came to an end.

When American Idol first started about 11 years ago, Kelly Clarkson gave an audition that made her shine! She took that audition and made a wonderful career from it. I love American Idol because it gives people a chance to become famous for what they do best. American Idol is my favorite reality TV show ever.

Simpsons - King Size Homer

Written by my friend Ian Cruz

In the episode King Size Homer of the Simpsons Homer gains weight in order to get on disability. Homer wants to get out of being forced to exercise at work and decides that working at home would be a better alternative. Homer gains weight and gets the ability to work at home as per power plant policy stating that individuals over a certain weight qualify as disabled.
The episode features some pretty classic moments such as Homer trying to gain weight by rubbing food onto a piece of paper to see if it turns clear t be his window to weight gain. Homer goes so far as to rub a sandwich on a wall and a bird flies through it mistaking it for an open space.

Homer is ridiculed for being overweight and is ashamed of his excess weight, but still manages to avert a power plant disaster. Mr. Burns decides that in exchange for averting the disaster he will help Homer exercise in order to lose weight. Right before the episode ends Mister Burns is yelling at Homer through a megaphone to do a single sit up. He is heard remarking "one ... one ... i'll just pay for the liposuction" and all is back to normal for the Simpsons on the following week. This and quite a few other favorites are available on local direc4u.com.

Free on Demand is My New Addiction

The Author of this post is Darius Boone

I have a new obsession and it is free on demand shows on www.direc4u.com. When I first heard about free on demand. I didn't think much of it other then a novelty. One day I had miss and episode of "Bones", so I thought I'd check out free on demand and see if i could watch it. Not only could I watch it but it has almost the entire season of episodes.

I am not a huge fan of many shows though there are a couple shows I have always wanted to check out, but they aired the same time as shows I already watch. Free on demand gave me the ability to watch these shows any time. This is what fueled my addiction as I kept checking out different shows and finding more and more I liked and ending up spending the whole day watching every episode available.

Free on Demand is the best thing going for TV and glad it is out there for us people who don't have a way to record shows. I hope to see more and more networks have there shows available this way, as it lets them reach an audience that may have not watched the show otherwise.

Michael J. Fox: He Still Has "It"

Guest post of the week by Moises Henderson

For the most part, TV guest cameos are terrible. The actors don't fit in at all with the show's aesthetic or comedic pace. Every now and then, TV shows hit a jackpot. While many Scrubs fans hated Courtney Cox or Elizabeth Banks on the TV show Scrubs, many loved Michael J. Fox's epic performance on the show as a celebrated doctor that everyone respected and went to for advice. While watching the show on http://www.direc4u.com, I fell in love with his performance, too. It felt real. It felt natural. It didn't feel like the producers sat down and said "This is a big star. What can we do with them?" Michael J. Fox didn't feel like he was forced into the show. Rather, he felt like he belonged there all the time. Michael J. Foxeffortlessly infiltrated the cast and made it feel like he had been on the show forever. He interacted with every character on their level. He didn't make the show change for his personality or timing. He "fit" within the show cast. I found myself wishing for more Michael J. Fox appearances on the show. He made the perfect quirky mentor for the notably quirky show, and his charachter's OCD made it easy for the actor to fit in with J.D.'s imagination, Elliot's neurosis, and Dr. Cox's God complex.

fantastic sitcoms on satellite television

Posted by Jonathon Murphy

Without a television set in the living room, where does all the furniture point to? This was a quote from the fantastic sitcom 'Friends', said by the infamous character named Joey. He is the main actor in the sitcom and the fabulous sayings he comes out with are totally of the chart yet simple to comprehend. Joey is the butt of most jokes in the show but he delivers some of the best punch lines ever heard on TV. He has two main obsessions in life, one is food and the other is women, I am not saying he is shallow but his character could never drown. In the show he plays an actor who starred in a sitcom 'Days of our lives' in which he played a doctor.

The kids and I usually watch the show before we go to football on Saturday and at every opportunity that we get. We sit in front of the television and watch all of the best sitcoms and shows via satellite TV, that I got after seeing these direc4u.com, only as the vast array of programs available is awesome. In the show 'Friends', Joey lives opposite Monica who is a control freak and lives with Phoebe who is a free spirit with a rather dizzy attitude. The whole show is based around the two flats and a cafe called Central Perk.

Bieber Dies on CSI

Written by my friend Dong Wood

CSI is one of the best crime drama shows on television. I enjoy the original series as well as all of the spin offs. Recently, teen singer Justin Bieber mad a guest appearance on the original CSI. He played the same bomb obsessed character in two episodes. In the first episode, he seemed innocent until the closing scene when he gave the camera an evil glare and smile. I knew that we would probably see the Bieber again in another episode. His character played a bigger role in the most recent episode. He was seeking revenge with the help of an accomplice. Bieber did a satisfactory acting job playing the role with an emotionally flat style. This was appropriate for the character and probably easier for Bieber who has no real acting experience. I enjoyed the ending when the officers gunned down Bieber in a standoff. This was a fun scene to watch in vivid colors on satellite TV that I got after seeing these www.direct.tv. It was so much fun seeing this teen heartthrob take fake bullets to the chest and pretend to bleed and die in the street. I've heard that some big Bieber fans cried to see their teen idol die even it was all pretend. However, the Bieber critics and haters laughed and greatly enjoyed the scene. Regardless, this CSI appearance had more people talking about Justin Bieber.

My Episode from My Favorite Sitcom Sanford and Son

This guest post from Alice Wall

One of my favorite television shows of all time is Sanford and Son. Even though this show debuted over 40 years ago, this show still has not lost its funny. Although there are many funny episodes, the one that sticks out in my mind the most was one that was entitled, "Wine, Women and Aunt Esther". I watch this episode on www.direct.tv. This episode starred Fred, his son Lamont, Aunt Esther and Fred's friends Leroy, Bubba, Skillet, and Grady.

The episode begins with Fred and his friends coming home from a funeral. After talking and drinking, they decide that they want to make the best out of life while they still have time. They plan to have a big party that is complete with female dancers. Lamont tells them that this is a silly idea, but they do not listen. Little do Fred and his friends know that Lamont has a very unpleasant surprise for them.

Lamont decides to teach them a lesson and gives the guys to much to drink. By the time the dancers have arive, Fred and his friends have passed out. Disgusted, the dancers leave , and the party is over. The next morning, Fred wakes up with a hangover. He then tells Lamont that he has learned his lesson and from now on he is going to act his age.

Ghost Hunters On Syfy

Authored by Raymond Whitney

The creators of reality shows are getting more inventive, and they are on more networks these days with many of the shows in line with the channels theme. I enjoy the show Ghost Hunters on the Syfy channel.

I find the paranormal to be fascinating and this show has investigators Grant and Jason who travel to different locations that are reported to be haunted. The investigators bring a team and equipment with them to search for ghosts.

Initially the group meets with the owners of the haunted location and is given information about the hauntings that have occurred. The team then uses their equipment to take temperature readings, video of the location and audio. They speak to the ghosts and attempt to have contact.
The team then analyzes all of their ghost data to verify any type of contact that may have happened. Apparently electronic equipment is sensitive enough to record paranormal activity. They try to find logical explanations for some of the activity such as a drop in temperature may be occurring from a vent. They meet with the owners after looking at the data to explain their findings.

I watch Ghost Hunters on www.direct.tv with my family and often discuss episodes with my friends later. I haven't quite decided if I believe in the paranormal, but this show makes me consider the possibility.

How To Train Your Dragon On Demand

Posted by Jonathon Murphy

The best movie that our family has watched On Demand recently is How To Train Your Dragon. This is a really good movie and I enjoyed it as much as my kids did. I was definitely worried that something was going to happen to the dragon though.

A young Viking name Hiccup wants to become a dragon slayer until he brings one down. He tried to kill him, but couldn't bring himself to do it. He becomes friends with the dragon and helps the injured dragon to fly again. He gets to know the dragon well and this helps him during his dragon slaying classes. Hiccup is able to subdue the dragons in slaying class more quickly than the other slayers in training.

A girl in Hiccups dragon slaying class named Astrid is curious about what he is doing and follows him. When Hiccup catches her he is worried that she is going to tell the village and his father who is the ruler of the Vikings. To prevent her from doing this he takes her for a ride onboard the dragon who he names Toothless. My kids really enjoyed the story from this movie and request to watch it often.

I watched this On Demand movie on my satellite TV, that I got after seeing thesehttp://www.direct.tv, with my HDTV and this gave me the best viewing picture available at home.

The What is Dr. Phil's Degree in Game

Contributed by Johnny Graves

When I want impractical advice delivered in a no-nonsene style, I always tune into the Dr. Phil show on my satellite television from http://www.Direct.tv. I can make sure to see his mustache and his bald head in high-definition and pay attention to all of his physical imperfections if I choose to do so. Of course, Doctor Phil and his followers would probably be among the first to say that this is a waste of my time, but watching anything on television involves at least some time that a person could better spend in other pursuits.

The difference between Dr. Phil and many of his contemporaries is he is trying to make a difference. I guess that is what a person should expect from an individual who was handpicked for the position by Oprah Winfrey. My favorite game during the show is to guess what Dr. Phil's degree is actually in, although he has enough schooling to call himself a doctor, his degree is probably far from psychiatry.

I could easily look this up on the Internet, but knowing the answer would just take all the fun out of this game. When I'm done with Dr. Phil, I can Youtube episodes of his television talk show mentor.

The Bad Girls Club

Written by my friend Dong Wood

"The Bad Girls Club" is one of my top reality TV shows to watch. I watch the show on satellite TV from http://www.direct.tv on the Oxygen network. "The Bad Girls Club" features a group of young women who are deemed "bad girls." They have temper problems or have had issues with the law. The show serves as a reformation of sorts for these girls. They are invited to live together for approximately three months in a large house and complete projects together. Through working together, they are supposed to learn valuable lessons to better their lives.

I love watching the show because of its entertainment value. The girls tend to get dramatic and engage in ridiculous fights. Many of them are also extremely funny to watch because of their personalities. There are moments that are heartwarming though; for instance, one of the young women is the mother of a little girl and she really tries to improve that relationship. It is a popular show that has been picked up by Oxygen for several seasons. Each season brings a new cast of interesting and unique characters.

Disaster Strikes When You Expect It!

Contribution by Odis Chan

I just spent three hours watching the movie "2012" and I think that it is my new favorite movie. I watch my new favorite movie on demand on satellite TV from http://www.direct.tv/. The reason I love this movie so much is because I think that Danny Glover did a good job playing the role of Barack Obama. It was convincing to see a black president in a suit. Presidents like to wear suits and act like they are important. Danny Glover had a lot of self importance, the most I have seen since "Gone Fishin'" with Joe Pesci. It's too bad they couldn't include Joe Pesci in this movie. Joe is so funny. Especially in Lethal Weapons (which stars the anti Semitic Mel Gibson). I also liked 2012 because they included the Dalai Lama. Buddhism is such an important religion. When the Dalai Lama rang the giant bell, I cried. He was so brave to stay behind and die in the tsunami waters. He really did something for his people there. The scene I didn't like was when John Cusack looks at a rotted, dead moose. I found this offensive because the movie makers obviously killed a moose and gutted it to be as realistic as possible. Speaking of super realistic, the special effects really helped the movie have a good storyline. Explosions equal movie making genius.

You're Cut Off Takes The Rich To Rags

Authored by Greg Fletcher

Every Sunday my satellite TV, that I got after seeing this http://www.direct.tv, is set to VH1 so I can watch my favorite reality tv show You're Cut Off Season 2. It shows girls who have a lavish lifestyle and how their families have cut off their finances in order to motivate them to become independent individuals.

Season two's cast is Aimee, Hana, Jenn, Jessica, Lauren, Marcy, Marissa, Nadia and Shakyra. The season starts with the girls thinking they are on the show for a false reason and then revealing the home videos that each of their family members sent cutting them off. They have a coach , Laura, who says they will have to go through a series of challenges in order to graduate and complete the program. Shakyra leaves the first episode after seeing their living quarters and refuses to do any of the challenges.

The girls who stayed were not happy about living so close together but seemed very happy the next day when they went to a country club. The girls ran up a huge bill and had to get jobs at the club to work off their debt. Other challenges along the way include, getting jobs, donating, volunteering and not pull each others extensions out in the process. The jury is still out on who will go home and who will make it to the end to graduate.

Katy and Elmo Would Be Stars on the Muppet Show

Guest written by our friend Trent Horton

It occured to me recently that Public Television and the modern Children's Television Workshop have sure strayed far from the magical days of their creator, Jim Henson. This New Year saw the most politically incorrect judgement call in PBS history when they pulled the Katy Perry Sesame Street appearance both on the show, and apparently from up under her yellow perky outfit to some viewers. Parents thought the remake of her song 'Hot N' Cold', in a duet with mega puppet star Elmo was risque?

It seems to this author, that Katy and Elmo would be stars on the Muppet Show.
Jim Henson had creative vision with the original Sesame Street; his innocent little puppetry hour was educational, while also tackling subjects like homelessness, poverty, street problems, racial issues, and such problems in three decades. The fact is, until this recent Katy Perry controversy Sesame Street never had a complaint in all its time on air.

Had the very intelligent and child friendly cameo been on the Muppet Show, I am sure that Henson would have taken it even further. What bothers me, is wondering who actually saw the show and was afraid for their child enough to get it banned. I saw it live on Satellite TV, that I got after seeing these direct.tv, that morning and found myself giggling like a kid.
Well Katy and Elmo, thank goodness for YouTube.

This Movie is Not Expendable

Contribution by Darren Saunders

There have been a lot of movies that have come through theaters lately that have caught my eye. Many of you have probably seen these movies and thought, "I sure wish Johnny would review a movie that I am interested in." Well, don't have this thought anymore or ever again. I will now review a thousand movies before you can say "Meow!" Actually, I don't think this is possible anymore because time has slowed down. My favorite new movie is called "The Expendables". I watch this new movie on demand on satellite TV, that I got after seeing these direct.tv, whenever I can handle all of the gore. Gore makes me really stomach sick but I really enjoy throwing up hence why I like "The Expendables" so much. There is a bad guy in the movie who sides with the other bad guys to betray the good guys. Really they're all jerks because they think it is morally acceptable to murder whenever they feel like. When I watch this movie I am reminded of "The Lion King" because of the betrayal and the murdering. Sylvester Stallone does a great job of being a forty year old murdered. Bruce Willis doesn't do as good of a job murdering people in this movie as he did in the Die Hard series. I think that Bruce should murder more people in his next action epic.

Why Angelina Jolie is my favorite actress

Thanks for the post from Kirk Wood

When it comes to finding talent in Hollywood Angelina Jolie tops the list. She is good at playing different roles for different films. She was really good playing Evelyn Salt in the movie Salt. She really had me convinced that she was not a Russian spy and that she was being set up. I think she does best in action movies. I watch her movies on www.directstartv.com. Mr. and Mrs. Smith was a good action comedy that she was in.

She sets a great example of helping people. It takes a special person to open their home to the many children that she has adopted from different countries. She has the personality that she could care less if people like her or not. She has said that she does not have many friends. That is another thing that sets her apart from the other women in Hollywood. She does not care about how much other people in Hollywood like her or don't like her. She has accomplished a lot and I hope that she continues to make great movies.

Downsizing… Guest post from: Constance Rodgers

When my mom and dad told you they were downsizing I was a little bit sad. They were going to be selling the house I grew up in which was really nostalgic for me, as I couldn't imagine anyone other than my family living there. Once they put it on the market though, it seemed more real, and now that they're in a new place I guess I can admit it finally happened. When they first got there, I helped them set up the new digs since they had bought a new house in decades. I researched security systems in their area and even found them a better energy rate at http://www.shopelectricityratestexas.com/texas-electricity-rates/Texas/W/Wortham/ which helped them save a couple hundred dollars a year. My mom said they are loving living in a smaller house as is so much less to take care of and clean. I like the new place, but it will never be home, but I guess everything have to and at some point. I'm just happy my mom and dad are content once again!
